  • hackle flash black hackle flash
Hackle flash is practically identical to UV polar chenille, and is a great way to add flashy bodies and collars to all your patterns.  The only differences we could find between hackle flash and UV polar chenille was the cord thickness ( polar chenille has a thicker cord) and the amount of material on the cord ( polar chenille has a tiny bit more), but ultimately they serve the same purpose and produce the same fishy results.  You will also find more silver fibers mixed in with this chenille, whereas polar chenille tends to have more pearl.  So why would you buy this product over UV polar chenille?  Color would be our answer, as this chenille comes in some very unique color combinations that you won't find in any other product line.  Each package of hackle flash contains 2 yards of material, and we carry it in black, purple, rootbeer, gold, silver, and olive colors.

  • polar flash reflector chenille rootbeer polar flash reflector chenille
Hareline's polar flash reflector chenille features the same consistency and length as the popular UV polar chenille, making it incredibly easy to make fishy looking bodies on streamers, intruders, saltwater flies, and stillwater patterns. The only difference you'll find with this product is that half the fibers feature a reflective, solid color mixed in with the standard translucent fibers that are found on standard polar chenille.  That said, polar flash reflector chenille is another great product for the contemporary fly tier and will add flash and movement to all your patterns.

tri-lobal holographic flash chenille purple tri-lobal holographic flash chenille
Tri-lobal holographic flash chenille is another great way to make flashy bodies on streamers and steelhead patterns with minimal bulk and weight.  The package says this chenille is 1.25" in width, but that is because it has fibers running on both sides of the core unlike similar products such as Aqua Veil or UV polar chenille which have the fibers on only one side.  In actuality, the fibers are almost identical in length to medium UV polar chenille, and you will use half as much material because there are twice as many fibers.  Approximately 5 feet of material per package.
  • crystal tri lobal chenille white tri-lobal mirror flash chenille
Tri-lobal Mirror Flash Chenille is a blend of tri-lobal and pearlescent mirror flash fibers, and is structurally identical to tri-lobal holographic flash chenille in terms of fiber length. However, this particular double-sided chenille has a little more of the softer tri-lobal fibers in the mix, and seems to be a better choice for more natural colored bodies on everything from nymphs to streamers.  The 3/4" size is a good choice for medium to large nymphs, and makes great looking bodies on leeches and small baitfish imitations.   The fibers on the larger 1.25″ size are almost identical in length to medium UV polar chenille, and you will use half as much material because there are twice as many fibers.  This is a great option for bodies on medium sized streamers when you are looking to add a little bit of flash without overdoing it.  Approximately 5 feet of material per package.
