The Tungsten Phase II is another pattern for when PMDs are around. The head of the fly is a tungsten bead allowing this fly to drop quickly into the zone. Comes in size #16
Schmidt’s Drymerger. Is it a dry fly? Is it an emerger?… That’s right, its both. We carry this cool little pattern in PMD and BWO variations and seems to fish best right in the film.
Morrish’s Tungsten Anato-May is a great PT looking pattern that is a great choice for a floating under an indicator or a great option for a dropper off a dry. This fly has a similar build to a classic PT but has some differences.
The Tungsten Jig Yellow Spot is one we like to fish under a dropper on the Madison come late July. Fish seem to like these when PMDs and Yellow Sallies are moving around. The CDC collar and pheasant tail body make for a fly that breathes more underwater than classic perdigons.
Mitchell’s Tungsten Splitback PMD is a heavy little PMD nymph that is a good choice for a dry dropper rig. Size 16
Kelly’s Hex Wiggler uses a small rabbit strip to imitate the erratic action of a swimming hex nymph. Size 10.
The Beadhead Mac Grubber has been a consistent producer for us on the Madison during July and early August when PMDs and other small mayflies are around.
Bear’s Fuzz Buster is a large mayfly nymph that we like to fish when Green Drakes start to move around. Size 8.
