Callibaetis
Callibaetis are the most common mayfly species found in lakes. These bugs have beautifully mottled wings and range in size from #14-#16 making them a sizable meal for Stillwater trout. These are what the infamous Gulpers are usually eating on Hebgen Lake from June through August every Summer, and provide hours of good dry fly action when you hit it right. Slow stripping Callibaetis nymphs before and after the hatch is extremely effective technique as well.
