Madison River

Kirby: 1,090 cfs
After a very intense cold front over the Holidays, temperatures are climbing to more tolerable levels and fishing has been good on the Upper River. Midges, Pat’s Rubber Legs, Olive Hare’s Ears in #18-20, and #18 $3 Dips are still the way to go under the indicator and we are starting to see more adult midges popping every day. The wind situation hasn’t helped the dry fly fishing, but we should really start to get going soon with the warmer temps heading our way next week. The river is still a little icy below Lyon’s Bridge, so I would stick to the areas between the lakes as well as between Raynold’s Bridge and Pine Butte if you plan on heading up this way.
