Jake’s Flav is a great bug to match the flav hatch, an overlooked but extremely important hatch on many Western rivers. These bugs tend to bring big fish up from the depths when they start to emerge on those cloudy afternoons in late June and July. Â Flavs will take to the air fairly quick once they pop out of their nymphal shuck, making the emerger the most sought after stage of this particular insect and Jake Chutz’s Flav is one of our favorite patterns for imitating this particular phase. Size 14.
