Craig Matthew’s Improved Sparkle Dun is a welcome addition to the original pattern that has been picking off finicky trout for over twenty years. The dubbed body of original sparkle dun is replaced by thread in the abdomen, followed by a small portion of dubbing in the thorax. One cool thing about the new and improved version is that there is a good mix of Z-Lon in the back of the wing, which helps hold the shape of the perfect comparadun style wing.
