The Flutter Bug Fly Pattern was designed by Eric Paulson of Livingston, Montana. This is a very unique pattern that was designed to mimic the fluttering wings of an adult salmon fly bug, which it is able to achieve with a pair of splayed mallard flank wings. The foam extended body and deer hair over-wing allow this fly to ride high in the film all day long, and we have seen fish move three feet off the bank to inhale this thing. One important note about this fly is that it will twist your leader if you are using anything weaker than 8 lb. Maxima or 1x tippet.
