There is not much that will out-fish a hares ear. What I noticed with all commercially tied hares ears was that they were tied way too bulky– tails too thick and too low of a wing case. The Galloup’s beadhead hares ear is tied to look more like the living mayfly nymph. This fly features tails of partridge hackle, picked out hares mask for a body, and a peacock wing case– Maybe the most important part of the fly and which is rarely used. You won’t find a better hares ear tied commercially anywhere.
