Galloup’s Flank Backed Creature

Description

Galloup’s flank backed creature.  The flank backed creature is a variation on the boogie man that has been a solid producer for Kelly over the last several seasons.  This pattern is tied using three hooks with two articulations, which allows the fly to swim like a demon underwater.  The body on the front two sections is composed of pearl UV polar chenile, with just the right amount of white marabou in the tail, and the top portion of each section contains a natural colored mallard flank feather like you see on Kelly’s heifer groomer and boogie man streamers.  The head is tied using silver minnow belly laser dub, and a pair of blue MFC sparkle dumbbell eyes were added to help break the surface of turbulent waters as soon as the fly hits the water.  Galloup’s flank backed creature works equally well as a baitfish imitation as it does as a reactionary fly, and measures in at roughly 5.5 inches long.
