Here is another killer streamer to come off of Russ Maddin’s vice. The Maddin’s Flash Monkey is a lightweight and easy to throw streamer. The eyes are double bead chain so it doesn’t add a lot of weight but allows for a good profile. The pattern has a great profile overall while using minimal materials that hold water. Flash, peacock herl, saddle hackles, bucktail and a chromatic brush make up the fly. The brush allows this fly to push some water giving it a darting affect when stripping. The hook placement is a little different from most streamers with only one stinger hook towards the back but not hanging behind the whole fly. This pattern belongs in any streamer junkies box.
