Galloup’s wooly tips up. The tips up has always been one of my favorite crayfish patterns for fishing flats between 2 and 4 feet in depth, but there were times where I wanted to the fly to get down a little further in the water column. By adding a wool head, the wooly tips up does exactly that while still maintaining that irresistible wobble on the rear hook. Both john and I landed our biggest browns on the Madison in 2013 on this pattern. Available colors: tan, black, white, and olive. Size 2.
