Phil Rowley’s Balanced Baitfish Fly works well suspended beneath an indicator when fishing around shoreline weeds and weed pockets where minnows love to hang out. As with all balanced flies, this pattern is also works well on a floating, midge tip, clear intermediate, or hover line in conjunction with a slow strip-pause retrieve. Even though this balanced baitfish minnow fly pattern was primarily developed for stillwater fishing, it should also do extremely well in rivers when big fish get on a minnow feed. All Rowley’s Balanced Baitfish are available in size 10.
