Many adult caddisflies dive down to the bottom of the river to lay their eggs, and drift back towards the surface upon completion. Such is the case with all Hydropsyche, our most important species of caddis on the Madison River. These bugs are extremely vulnerable during this stage, and Silvey’s Diving Caddis is one of the best imitations we’ve found for intimating a diving adult. This is a great pattern to drop off a larger dry fly, but can also be nymphed with equal success. Color: Tan. Size: 16.
