Galloup’s Hares Ear

There aren’t too many nymphs that will out-fish a hare ear. What I noticed with all commercially tied hare’s ears was that they were tied way too bulky– tails too thick and too low of a wing case. The Galloup’s Hares Ear Fly Pattern Nymph is tied to look more like the living mayfly nymph. This fly features the tails of a partridge hackle, picked a hare’s mask for a body, and a peacock wing case (maybe the most important part of the fly and which is rarely used).

Sizes 14 – 20.  Galloup’s hare’s ear is also Available in a beadhead version.
